Insulation & Ventilation
Effective attic ventilation is critical for a long-lasting roof. However, many homes in North America do not have proper attic ventilation, as most homeowners are unaware that poor attic ventilation can ruin insulation, destroy shingles, and raise energy bills.
Imperial Building & Roofing is dedicated to helping you keep your energy bills low while maintaining a comfortable temperature in your home. You don't have to be uncomfortable on saving money on your cooling and heating, but you need a more efficient way to regulate your home's temperature. Contact us today so that we can provide you with a free estimate on your home's insulation and make sure that you have the proper ventilation installed.
Save Money & the Environment
If your home is older, you might be losing a lot of your air through your walls. Insulation from the past was not made for the same standards as modern day homes, so the hot or cold air is able to escape into the outside world. Don't pay a fortune on heating and cooling just to have it escape your home.
Imperial Building and Roofing can offer the following options:
- Install blown-in fiberglass insulation or Fiberglass Blanket Insulation, as well as wall insulation, where possible.
- Keep your utility bills lower not only in the winter but also in the summer. Avoid the air infiltration and condensation on your rafters/trusses or roofing boards.
- We recommend Fiberglass loose blown-in insulation. It is lightweight, settles only 2% over time unlike cellulose, which settles about 20% over time and can only have up to R-38 value due to its weight. With fiberglass loose insulation the thermal value can be up to R-60, and you may also save about $500 in heating and cooling costs.
Properly balanced attic venting is one of the most important components of your home. Balanced intake and exhaust ventilation in your attic will help keep your home cooler and avoid ice dam build-up. Proper ventilation and insulation will help your roof maintain a uniform temperature and keep your attic cooler.
